Born in South London to wonderfully laid back Guyanese parents, Raggy got immersed in Jazz in the early eighties listening to radio stations like
Radio Invicta,
Solar Radio,
Horizon and
LWR. Most of Raggy's school friends disappeared down the electro path following sounds like
Hashim and
Africa Bambaataa, but Raggy's ears were bending left towards
Judy Roberts,
Atmosfear and
Freeez!
First and foremost, Raggy is a record collector with 25 years of record collecting to treat you to. Desperate to collect and find the records that were changing his life, Raggy spent every available penny on cutouts and 12" singles. His tireless enthusiasm for music in the mid 80s kicked up a gear in 1992 when he was introduced to the dangerously expensive and underground world of
the jazz record dealer. Years of secret rendezvous with some of the best worldwide record dealers enhanced his continual search for those elusive, obscure rarities to add to his extensive vinyl collection.
After a few years of weekly radio shows on the world famous, original

The shows feature a lot of jazz: from left of centre 60s & 70s independent jazz music in all its twisted forms, abstract soul, new jazz, weird downtempo obscurities, Brazilian funk right through to offbeat folk-funk. If you like
